Angie Buckalew and Megan Wendling - HTH Safety Solutions, LLC

May 20th, 2017

Safety First!  We've all heard and probably used that expression many times in our lives.  But for a business, safety is sometimes the last thing they want to think about.  Let's face it.  It takes time away from production...and it's boring.  Right?  Wrong!  Meet our guests, Angie Buckalew and Megan Wendling, of HTH Safety Solutions, LLC.  They conduct workplace safety seminars that your company folks will actually enjoy.  Which means they are listening...and it's sinking in.  And if it's sinking in, your company will enjoy a safer work environment...which means less down time...which means more productivity.  See where we're going with this?  Safety first, people!

David Vermaak - Northwestern Mutual

May 19th, 2017

One of our all time favorite guests.  David Vermaak from Johannesburg South Africa, finds the love of his life...online...halfway around the world.  Moves to Cincinnati and opens a Krav Maga school and starts a financial planning business.  He talks a little funny.  The odds are stacked against this out of towner.  But he's likeable guy and a genuine networker, doing his best to help the people he meets get what they want out of business...and life.

Some people have a way with words.  Melinda Zemper, of Oak Tree Communications, is one of those people.  She also puts leftover frosting on crackers and freezes them.  But fortunately, she has a way with words and at her day job she helps small business owners  leverage their unrealized strengths into communications strategies that lead to profits. Oak Tree Communications is the publicity and public relations firm to turn to for creativity, experience and expertise.

All Decked Out - Joe and Jessica Hagan

April 13th, 2017

There are many benefits that can come from owning your own business.  Working 10 years without a paycheck is NOT one of them.  Such was the case for Jessica Hagan...co-owner of All Decked Out.  Thankfully, times are much better now...and even the owners get a paycheck!  If you've every seen, (or stood on) their work...you'd understand why they are now one of the area's most sought after deck and outdoor hardscape builders.

HBA of Greater Cincinnati - Dan Dressman

April 13th, 2017

Robin Hobb once said, “Home is people. Not a place. If you go back there after the people are gone, then all you can see is what is not there any more.”  Maybe... but it sure would be a whole lot more fun (alone) in a Homearama home!  Dan Dressman would probably agree.  His organization, HBA of Greater Cincinnati, has been hosting Homearama and other similar events for over 50 years.  In this episode we'll get the back story of Homearama.  We'll also learn about all the other things that the HBA does for and with area builders.

QCA - Jim Bosken

The fascinating history of Queen City Album, now QCA.  Jim Bosken shares his dad's journey from a guy with a printing press in his basement...to owning a recording studio/record company.  He also talks about how the death of the record industry led him to specialty printing...and once again back into the record business.  One of my all time favorite shows.

La Terza - David Gaines

March 13th, 2017

On this episode we talk about coffee.  REALLY good coffee...but it's still more than that.  It's about having the vision guts to dream big...and the self control to implement your dreams once step at a time.  Or, in this case, one cup at a time.
