Richard once said to Tommy Boy... "Your dad could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman and white gloves" Tommy Boy hadn't found his selling style yet. And when he finally DID make a sale...processing and shipping was off THEIR game. Our guest today is Brett Hapel... and his company, Accelerate Accountability, could have helped Tommy Boy, processing and production work together like a well oiled machine!
Myspace is out...I know that now. But do you know what's in and what's the best way to get your message across on Social Media? Kendra Ramirez does...and she reveals the secret sauce in the 3rd segment of the show. Tom Tasset and Robynn Anton co-host.
I'd like to say our first show of 2017 went of without a hitch. I'd LIKE to say that, however from the first moments, craziness ensued. As it turns out, we still managed to put on a show packed full of great social media business ideas. Shay Nartker was our guest...with a surprise visit from Matthew Dooley and Katie Rose.
Give a man or woman a fish and you'll feed them for a day. Team them to fish and you'll feed them for a lifetime. Jim Stahly would probably agree with this proverb. He is a Platinum S.C.O.R.E. mentor. Every year, SCORE volunteers help thousands of entrepreneurs start small businesses and achieve new levels of success in their existing businesses.
Most people don't like talking about themselves...and I would include myself in that majority. But every once in awhile we are forced into action. Like when your scheduled interviewee doesn't show up. Good news is, this is a show about entrepreneurs and I'm one of those. I also know a lot of those...so it worked out ok. During the show I revealed advice that I received over the years that helped me along the way.
If you swing the bat, you're dangerous! Joe Nuxhall used to say this when a pitcher was lucky enough to make contact at the plate once in a great while. It's true. You have to swing...to crush the baseball. But wouldn't you rather crush it more often? Even better...EVERY time? Our guest on todays show is Matthew Marvin, owner of MGM Consulting and author of "Nailed it" 10 Keys to Crushing the Interview. He'll talk about strategies and technics that will help you CRUSH your next interview and land you the job you most desire!
A wise man once said...If you've got a bucket of tools, you can make a living. 3 years ago our guest, Matt Ramsey, took his bucket of tools and launched his concrete company...Ram Development. The wise man was Matt's father, who himself was a concrete contractor. Unfortunately Matt's father passed away last year. But thanks to Matt his legacy and his bucket of tools lives on!
What do dog food, exploiding duck heads, loose stools, sales management and lawn ornaments made of cow manure all have in common? They are all things my cousin talked about on this episode of American Dreamers. Dave Dourson, owner of Kinetic Performance Dog Food talks about how he and his partner turned an idea into a successful business. I also picked his brain about his sales managment background...and found out that if you don't know your customer, you might end up with 83,000 headless ducks!
Many of us made at least one clay vase/bowl/pot/ashtray in our early life. But only a few of us were so inspired by our efforts, that we made it our life's work. Such is the case for well over 100 crafters, artists and makers who's work will be on display this Saturday at Crafty Supermarket, held this year at the University of Cincinnati Recreation Center. My guest on the show is Grace Dobush, co-organizer of the event. We'll talk about the logistics of putting on such an event, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
